My KX500 at last!!!!!
« on: November 29, 2008, 10:39:37 PM »
So finely I have a KX500, after wanting it for 10 years at least.
If I'm right its from 98 and hasn't run for years.
Has a HGS exhaust( dutch #1 brand).
Wider footpeg mount than I've seen befor.
And last but not least RUSTY bolts :-D. A bit of elbow crease and work it wil shine.

Planing to bring my brother on my uncle's k5 to.  The cilinder is re-nicalsiled.(nieuwe "chroomlaag)
Whant to ride it first in Den Helder, small hour drive for me and is deep sand.
Must ride this year a lot more. Nuspeet, Ermelo or so.

  Very nice DK5,  8-)
When I got my KX5 it was in 4 cardboard boxes.
Does the engine turn over ?
Will you pull the pipe and inspect the Cyl. through the exhaust?

Congratulations, Looking forward to updates :-)

Thats the plan, but its ?1500 with wheels. Could be the first Kx500af in holland
Although I heard some one else is also busy vd vegt says.
The kxf250 is the hard way to do, 450 would be beter. Coulnd find one for a good price.

I've ridden it for 500 yards, it shifts, revs. Don't realy have to inspect the cilinder,
it's had nicasil threatment. But will check everything.

congrats on a nice looking kx5.

How does the HGS pipe perform?  I have a SPES and I was thinking they were probably pretty similar.  (good for higher revs)

I have never tested HGS vs stock or Spes or what else. This is my first own K-5.
Euro pipes manufactures don,t tel much how there exhaust perform.
If I get the chance I wil share it here. My uncle's bike has a Rino Exhaust, should be the same as Spes.

Your Euro to RoostDaddy???

And Freekie, when I sell parts.

Pretty sure that Eric Gorrs book says that European pipes are usually setup for tuned cylinders and more topend power.

It could be that. Taming the beast is easiest to move the power up.

Demographic :?   I search for Kickstarter mods or heavier versions of the on the site here.
And found that the 98 to 04 are better. (Part#13064-1165 vs #13064-1201)
Have you tryed them out jet??

Dutchie,

No I'm not Euro.  But I think I am probably the only Lucky American left with a KX500 Spes  :-D
Anyone know if there are any American suppliers for any of the Euro exhausts?   Last I heard Spes/Doma are no longer being imported.
