What am I doing digging a big hole in the middle of the trail?  No, it's not a good start on a place to park my CR500.

I've dug a couple of those in my time but I never thought about posting pictures of it. I guess if you dont show a picture of the body they can't prove anything

  Every trail needs a good tire obstacle.  Ever since I did the big tires at Crosstimbers riding area I've wanted a set on my trail.  I saw this set in a trash pile at a construction site the other day.  I called the developer on the sign and he put me in touch with the contractor who said he would call the sub contractor to see if I could have them.  He called the next morning and said I could have them.  Everyone was real cool about it.  I guess it never hurts to ask.
  The main thing about placing the tires is to get the hole right the first time.  I learned that the hard way, I did not have the shape correct and had to roll the tire out of the hole by myself.   I did a little measuring and shaped the hole with a flat tipped pick.  After placing the tires I drilled holes in the bottom so I wouldn't have a floating problem.  I learned a drill bit for steel does not work well.  There not steel belted so I tried a wood drill bit.  What I call a paddle bit. ( I'm not a carpenter)  Blasted right through the rubber as easy as wood.  I went ahead and drilled a hole in the side wall on the top side and installed a bolt with big washers so the tires will not spread over time. 
  There are a couple of dead trees in the area,  I plan to cut them down and stack logs on both sides like a ramp.  These tires aren't near as big but should still be fun.  I did leave enough room for newbie's to go around if they don't want to try the tires.

Yes, my riding buddy.  If she can see me touch a bike she'll start barking.  I have to put her in the house or back yard to start any 2 stroke.  She'll bite me on the leg after 2 kicks.  Not a real bite more of a hurry up nip.  The ring a ding ding of a 2 stroke does something to her. 
2 stroke bike = crazy
4 stroke bike = nuts
Quad            = tire biting
3 wheeler      = runs over to the little trailer I pull behind it
Street bike    = just barks at me knowing she is not going.

O  Tires. I was just kidding about the body thing.

Sweet! I kinda wish more people would build some Romaniacs style stuff in trails. kinda like those crazy mountain bike ramps on stilts. But tires are allways a great edition to any endurocross style section.

That's a cool idea, the trails around here have crap that "naturally" deposited by rednecks too cheap to take their garbage to the dump. We had a nice gastank jump at the beginning of a long whoop section for a while. And several paintball forts made of old tires and scrap lumber littering the trail. there have also been several burnt out car/truck bodies, four wheelers, bicycles, and dead/poached animals.
