New to this site with some questions
« on: September 10, 2008, 04:21:32 PM »
Hello
I have been reading with much interest on stewards articles about crank truing.
Can you really make one of these not vibrate?
I have a 93 K5 that I put into a 84 T3 and am in the process of putting a 98 K5 in a 87 T4 but just thought I would have to deal with the vibes.
my first bike was a 75 kx 250 ( which I would love to have back but cant seem to locate one any where) in 86 I bought a brand new K5 and fell in love with these engines but am getting older so I find that 4 wheels are a little easier on me. Here are a couple pics of my childrens and my Tecates.

Welcome to the site. Lots of green in your lineup.  My 92 500 didn't vibrate so it can be done.  Cam.

those are outstanding bikes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,with good mian bearings a  true  crank and a piston with the  window   witch gets rid  off  a lot of wieght in the piston making the counter wieghts seem  hevier ,,,,,,,,,, no vibs

I want a 86 or 87 T3 also.

Steward have you ever built a K5 for a quad apllication?
Something about the geometry of the 4 wheels compared to the 2 always brings out the vibes that you never new existed before.
I plan on having my frame ready somtime the first of the yr.Then I think I will send you some parts. it would sure be nice to do this with out the vibes.
I have heard a lot of people try to get ride of the vibs with little sucess.having Falcon balance them is supposed to help some but I have never heard of any one being really happy with the results.

Wow! that is a line up of toys. Have you joined 3wheelerworld.com yet?

I have an 86 KXT250 Tecate and a 96 KX500 motor for a transplant. Also looking at a 1986 KX500.

Both sites are great with good board members.  Good luck!
