BDI pedal car
« on: May 02, 2008, 06:40:21 PM »
Here I go wasting space again.I'm sorry for posting non motorcycle related stuff but this is the only forum I belong to. I thought you guys might get a kick out of this regardless. It's going to have a hand made tube chassis and it's going to remain pedal power but everything is going to be ballbearing and heim joint. All my buddies think it needs a high doller paint job but I'm thinking about leaving it like it is and panting the frame oxide red with some rust brown spots on it to make it look old. 8-)

That is badace!  I love pedal cars and I dont think I have ever seen a jacked up 4X lookin one like that. Great project!  Almost has an old-school Jeep Wagoneer look to it.

cool project there bdi, i really like those old school toys. the retro/weathered looking paint idea would look great. go for it. as a kid i grew up in michigan and my grandparents had tons of stuff like these old pedal cars for us to play with. man, if i'd only known. i'd love to have them now.   MADDOGGY

I would stick with the old patina look. The front end looks like an old wagoneer or comando. How about a fake mini winch for the front, with tiny hook protruding from tiny fairlead ?  Dont forget a tiny ORV sticker ( if your state requires them) Keep up the good work. John
PS a kx500 engine would be overkill, dont even think about it.
Spring is here and the Mighty 500 wants to ride.

I think a rocket engine would be safer. I'm definietly going with the old look for a while.

Maybe skip th 500/Pedal Drive Swap, but I'm thinking Bright flourecent Green Looks good on anything. A few race stickers on the doors and one huge Skull and Crossbones Sticker on the Hood, who's gonna top it?
