This was a "dirt bike"  no porting, no street tires, no streamlining ect. ect...... just a pure dirt bike.....

I'm not trying to be a jerk just want to make a fair comparison.

I live in Utah and would love to come see you guys run the next time, If I'm welcome LOL. and if you need help with anything while you're here let me know, I can fix just about anything and can TIG, MIG, plasma ect.

Hey Mitch

My shop manual/notebook has a copy of the F2 Dirtbike article in the front cover and the KTM on the back. Both covers will remain unchanged and will definitely continue to motivate me over the winter.

We had a great year at Bonneville and I am really excited about the team we have put together. Stewart built a great motor for the bike. The aerodynamic ideas paid off. Everyone in Milwaukee made it happen. Best of all, everyone rode safe and had a great time!

Instead of argueing the differences in altitude, the natural margin of error in stopwatch timing procedures, the difference in surface conditions, the stress of a flying mile, the roll out of a giant knobby, etc......

Until roughly two weeks ago The World's Fastest Dirt Bike had a documented top speed of approxiatemately 121 m.p.h. In less than a week the speed had increased more than 9 miles an hour to 130+ m.p.h. By the end of the week the bar was raised to 132.444 m.p.h......127.523 m.p.h. without any front fairings.

I have no doubt that 133 and 128 will be surpassed within the year!

Mark

p.s. As the guy that 'tucked' behind OEM radiator shrouds and rode a safe, fat motor to 117.529 m.p.h., you can believe that I can taste 124+ m.p.h.

no mater how you put it 100+ on a dirt bike or atv is fassst.when i rode it on the sunday before the bonneville run i increased my speed each time making sure the bike didn't do any thing stupid. i rode a street bike one time that had dif. forks on it and it was fine to 115 and let off it , but when i ran it up to 120 mph i rode it from white line to white line . just 5 mph and i was getting ready to ditch it after a mile or more of side to side. but like we say put it on here and put it on video. less talk more action .  :-D :-D :-o think abouit this the motor held togetter for more than a mile wfo. wooooo thank goodness. lol
race gas is fast but Q16 hauls azz.i still ride because i am not ready to have been that fast. i ride a kx500 because they don't make a kx600!ck k5abuser on youtube

That is the thing right there. the KTM MIGHT be able do do the speed but the chances of it holding together are slim to none.

Hey everyone

There is an early Dirt Bike magazine online race report from the guys at F2 Racing. There is a direct link to it from www.wolbrinkrace.blogspot.com.

I know how hard it was to get the KX5 to Bonneville. I can't begin to imagine how much harder it would be with all those 'extra' pieces hando puts in the CRF motor!?!?

Seriously, Simon and Hengeveld seemed to be really nice guys and were great competitors!

They have earned and deserve respect for what they have done on the salt.

I don't think I understand all the information correctly.  The F2 guys have the record with an average of just over 130 on a 450?  I don't get it... :?

they do not have the any records at this time,, they are rounding up there speed numbers and not being upfront with the truth ,,the record in there class was set by a k5 ,,,and  they could have stayed and ran  just like anybody ,,,mark and kevin  my hats off to you guys 1st for good sportsmanship and  honesty  ,,,and  2nd,,,, record setting speed and stick with till you done style..i am glad to be involved with people like that ...they make there  own luck,,not a list of excuses   or whining  half truths,,,  stewart
