what all can you do and still run P/P?
at what point do you become M frame and MPS frame type?
what is the max amount of work that can be done to a P type engine?

bbb

A P/P bike is a production frame / production engine entry. The bike must look exactly like it did on the show room floor with the exception of the tires and handlebars.

A production engine must have the stock carb with stock venturi, unmodified chamber and exhaust, unmodified airbox, and run non-oxygenated gasoline.

In addition to the P/P bike, we ran in both the Modified Partial Streamlining Class and the Modified Class with a Production Engine.....MPS/P and M/P

The MPS class allows for streamlining in front of the rider, while the M class prohibits it.

In all three classes we ran under the power of the motor Stewart prepared for us. Keep in mind the course is five miles long, run at WFO. The first two miles are to get up to speed, then a timed mile, and finally two miles to shut down.

Our speeds were not measured in a 'speed trap radar gun', but are timed averages over a 'flying' mile. We streched the throttle cables for five solid miles at 4400 plus feet of altitude and Stewart's motor always pulled strong!

It is very imprtant to point out this was a team effort. My name is on the bike, but it took all the guys in Milwaukee to build a rolling frame for the motor Stewart and Dave put together!

Please keep checking back to the blog page for additional updates about this year's event as well as our plans for next year.

Thanks
Mark

One more thing....It has been a very busy few weeks for everyone involved with this project.

Please keep asking questions, but have a bit of patience if I don't respond right away.

There is at least a month's worth of exciting posts and new KX5 developments and it is probably going to take me two months to type it all out!

It will be worth it....all the KX5 dreamers and riders better get ready to re-adjust their lust and/or need lists!
