The Dumont Dunes are very beautiful and steep with sharp drops offs!  As you can see we had the entire place to ourselves. We rode around and over the dunes for a couple of days and only saw a hand full of people. The dark sky was a fantastic site, ecxept for the lites coming from Vegas. Without fail more problems with the trailer shortened the stay a day!

We are now on the way to the biggest dunes of all Glamis in the Imperial Dunes. This will be the last stop before we head home after 5,000 miles so far...............

We saved the biggest and best for last! The last 3 days we spent riding the Glamis Dunes! We forget how big the really are till we go back to visit them again! Today we got up and it was way to windy to ride so we decided to head for home! Hear are some pic's........

Note the two pic's from the same area, one with telephoto and one on normal. Gives you some idea how large the place is! We spent 5 1/2 hours yesterday riding up and down the center of the dune field and only went 16 miles! :-D :-D :-D :-D

It has been a long 5,000 miles and just let me say one thing. If you ever want to go to the dunes and you can only make it to one, Glamis Glamis Glamis Glamis Glamis :-D

Alan

when i was a kid i'd read articles in Dirt Bike about Glamis etc and open class bikes with paddles and dream of riding there and what it must be like.

i doubt i'll ever get the chance to ride that kind of sand - you are so lucky!

despite your troubles so far i bet the trip has been a blast, must be a humbling experience being in such a vast, beautiful landscape.

someday.........
