I just took my KX500 to Gorman, Ca on Saturday for my first ride of the year. I was out with a buddy of mine and we had a blast. It was a bit (alot) chilly but it was tolerable. I didn't give a single thought while I loaded my 500 instead of my 250 that it had been snowing and raining at Gorman for a while.
Every trail was either snowed up or a mud bog. Kinda reminded me of the old Blackwater 100 days over in Davis, West Virginia. The only thing that saved me is the fact that I have a flywheel weight and a Revlock clutch on my 5 hunnie otherwise it would have been a horrific day of riding. It took a little work and finess but my good ol' 500 tractored its way around some of the tighter technical trails up there with style and grace. Should I have taken my 250 instead? Maybe. But it was a good ride regardless. Now its time to break out the preasure washer and attemp to blast my bike clean. I'm sure there is still a KX hiding under all that mud.......
