300 Miles of off road riding El Paso
« on: October 12, 2003, 11:32:58 AM »
Hey guys I took off work for three day to ride with my buddies, Mark & Jeff!  Mark just picked up his new Raptor last week and his buddy Jeff came from out of town to ride!

The first day we took a 139 mile ride on a sand dirt lava road 3' from the border fence! We road all the way from El Paso to Columbus, NM which is due west of El Paso.

The second day we rode to the Craters north west of El Paso and then back out the what we call the wall with lots of sand hills to climb. And we did a lot of boon docking in the desert along the way!

Day Three we went out to Red Sands and road the dunes and trails.

What a great time! :)

Here is a link to a new photo album on my web site if you would like to check it out! I recommend using the slide show feature set at about 5 sec to view the album!

I know you will find it hard to believe but, the second day out by the craters there was a bunch of mud. We have had lots of rain out here, well for El Paso anyway! There was sections of the roads 2 to 3 hundred ft long with lots of mud and water. My buddy Mark thought it was great fun running his brand new shiny Raptor back and forth through these sections. I don't like cleaning mud off my toys so I went out around these sections through the boonies!

Sounds like you guys had a blast!
We get so little rain, that when it does happen to rain, everyone loads up and heads out to the trails to get some prime-time dustless dirtbiking in...
