hey guys i just got a 1987 kx 500 been checking this site out for a couple days and thought it was time to join

Here what's mine use to look like. I removed that desert tank. It just carried the weight of the fuel way to high.

Hi my names Tanner Miner im from eastern nebraska and im new to this site. I just got an account  but for the past month iv been a guest lookin at random forums and iv got to say  that this is an amazing place :-D!! At the moment iv got a 98 kx500, i basicly stole it off ebay for only$1500 :-o and since then she has gotten alot of aftermarket parts(next in line is probly a big bore kit) and is now a hillclimber. I race anywhere around Nebraska, missouri, kansas, iowa, minnesota,wisconsin.

Welcome to the site, hope you kick some butt with your KX500.  I just ride trails and kick up roost. It's a lot of fun to show the four stroke guys what an old bike can do.
 Keep up posted on your bike and whatever changes you make.
