well i know this if the engine is running you could check up on them ,
from 88 up its possible to remove a little plastic cover at the right side.
then kick it and rev it while watching to the kips rod pulling out/in ..
if its working and correct it should blast ,
if not there,s your issue..

dunno much about adjustments or whatever but my both engines are revin the hell out so it very noticeable when kips is online :-D

Possibly seals worn or damaged if they were replaced. Also, on my k5 I had to lean out needle, one step leaner than stock. Check Pro circuit site for recommendations. Sounds like you may be sucking in crank case oil or are way fat. What about carb? You have it off and go thru it yet? clogged main or crap in there playing games? Fresh fuel?

You stated the "Jetting is on from what I can tell, no pinning, spark plug look good" From the way the bike is running I can't see how you can tell is the jetting is correct. May need better information about the problem. Float level would be high on my list of things to check. Just a quick tip: These 500's take a while to come up to temp and to clear their throat. My bike needed at least 5mintues or more of slower riding to get the engine up to temp and then it started making power.

i just started my 89 after sitting for 3 or 4 weeks, stared pretty good putted around the back yard good but every time i nailed it a lot of blubbering. even after all warmed up no better. put it on the lift, took the carb off, held it up level to take 4 screws off bowl and as soon as the last screw was loosened gas came out. float was sticking bowl was full.good luck.
