Clutch cable won't stretch
« on: July 21, 2008, 06:58:27 PM »
Just put motor back in and clutch cable will not reach clutch cable keeper on motor.

The Kawasaki mechanic put a new clutch ring/plate as one was cracked and a new clutch cable keeper on motor (bit that swings around when clutch lever pulled in)

Pretty sure have the routing of the cable correct. Any ideas pls ?

(trying to work out what could have changed)

You have to use a cresent wrench or channel locks to get the slack you need. grab that "clutch cable keeper" and manually move it to the front to get in the little slot on side of motor.

Cheerz sounds very logical  :-) Reassuring to know I will not be doing any damage applying some decent pressure forward. Much appreciated  :-)
