That thing is Sweet.  Those older big bore two stokes make you a man reall quick, because you don't want to cry while you are picking the gravel out of your A$$ in front of you friends.
It's all in the wrist!  Save a tire, shift early!

443? Is that a KX420 with a KDX450 crank?

Just checking out this nice looking KX 443

Just like to know more  about this machine, as I recall this machine was never a production machine. It either a works bike or a KX 250 A5 79 Model with a 443cc motor slipped in.

As I recall they did have a 443 works bikes, but I only remember them with a uni - trar suspension.

Kawasaki never made a production big bore in 78/79. KX 420 appeared n 1980/81 then dissappeared until 1983 KX 500 A1 air-cooled.

any information on it's history would be great.

I nearly have all KX pamplets from 74 to 2007!!!  now kawasaki australia doesn't print them anymore.

Might have to get them from the States, can any one help??????

It is a 1979 KX250 A5 rolling chassis with a KX420 engine JUST slipped in. The crank is a genuine Kawasaki 443
replacement. I rode it last weekend, nothing fell off bar me. Like riding an auto, very smooth. :-D

way too awesome! I love the classic 2t bikes!

Kinda makes me wish I did not give away that 79 Honda 250 I had.

Your bike looks great! I have a 75 KX250 and a 80 PE400 Suzuki projects that I hope to get to this winter. Those Nightmare sidepanels look nice!
A couple of 03 and 04 KXs, a few YZs, 3 PE 400s, a DR and a TS.

That bike looks great! my buddy just pulled a kx 420 out of a barn in the back of a vinyard a couple months ago. the owner just gave it to him. we cleaned the carb and tank. put some fresh gas in it and it started right up!

.
Sorry to dig up a VERY old post, but as a KX420 owner, I’m intrigued about the 443 kit motors.
I’m seriously considering writing a book on air cooled KXs and KDXs and this sort of info would be invaluable.
I’m really hoping to be able to write/publish something similar to my last book on Yamaha 2 Stroke road racers.
