i dont think the v force reeds can handle the extreme cold weather at all and the cold nitrous destroys them had a set of v force 3's in 02 ski doo 800 it was 56 below without windchill started up the sled only had prob 50 miles on brand new blew the left reed cage compleatly out locked up my motor will never put v force in anything i ride in cold weather again lucky for me it just barly got the bottom of piston half day in cold woodshed got sled going again 600 dollars later finished up are riding trip!

So the concensus seems to be the Boysen dual stage reeds are the best for offroad?

I hope this isn't too OT, but what is stock HP for a 2000 KX5? What would this reed kit add HP wise?

Stewarts dyno says the VF2 are the best for power gain... The only bad thing I have heard about them is in regards to cold weather or nitrous as stated above. I'm sure anything is an improvement over stock.

VF2, only way to go. unless you ride in -30 degree weather or your drag racing with nitro.

I ride in some times 20 degree range. Would that be an issue? Whats the threshold of temperature considered too cold for these?

Any idea on whats a good price?

There are two different types of systems, a wet system and a dry system. The bike I had in Indiana had a dry system, its injected into the air boot between the filter and the carb. I think the wet system has more potential for higher HP gains. Cold Fusion (wet system) claims 100hp gain on a twin, seems a bit high but who knows.

  The space is a good mod for the KK500.  I used the boysen dual-stage with very good results.  I was too cheap to buy the VF3 and likely would have liked them too but the boysen was good. Cam.
