Fork upgrade?
« on: January 06, 2008, 10:22:55 AM »
I'm thinking on sending my forks to get revalved and was thinking if it might be a good time to just swap them out for something else instead (and then have those revalved). We are currently racing a crf450x (in baja) and figure it might make things easier when trying to locate spares if my whole front end was interchangable.  I know I can make the necessary hardware to make the larger diameter forks work, be it by modified triple clamps or stem. But then I would have updated technology and interchangable wheels and even forks. Also thinking of making modifications to be able to run a crf rear wheel on my stock swingarm. What do you guys think? The easiest thing would be to just buy a crfx like our race bike but I just love my K5 and would never give that up.

Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've made some spacers for a rm125 rear wheel to fit in my RMZ250.
On the K-5 are Yz Öhlins forks. We have made some spacers, new axle, front cliper and more small things to fit works creat.
Look at exel, they have interchangable wheel. Mabey you can steal some idea's!!!
