Whew, 6 days with no utility power. I did get a generator at the end of day 2. I didn't take the time to wire it into the house because I thought any day the elc. will come on. Heat was not a problem because I have a stand alone wood burning fire place, a free standing propane heater and a small wall mounted natural gas heater by the laundry room. I just used extension cords through the back door of the house. I just acted like I was camping at the dunes. The only real problem for me was no running water because I'm on well water. So now it's been 12 hour days at work starting Sat. the 15th. We're thinking if we do 12 hour days until Sun. the 23rd we can get caught up. I knew the power company was telling everyone "Might be 10 more days" because they were tired of all the calls.
Thanks for the call Alan,
