CRF450

I had the chance a couple weeks back to ride a CRF450. I have to say it is the easiest dirtbike I have ridden. It starts easier than a CRF150 (seriously 1 light kick). It has awesome 4 stroke traction and super handling. I did a couple laps at my friend's track. This track doesn't have any real jumps. Its just both sides of a really big hil with many turns, hill climbs, off-camber and whoops. My 500 will easily out pull the 450 up the hills, but when it gets technical the 450 feels so much tighter and lighter.

Overall for anyone riding MX tracks or really tight, technical stuff the 450 is the way to go.

Of course if you ride open areas, dunes or straight up hill climbs, get the 500.

And yes, I DID beat the guy in a dragrace up the hill :)

Have you ridden a WR450? That is one seriously versatile machine. Once you get rid of all the baffles and stuff and let that animal breathe. If Lawi doesn't make / sell some type of wide ratio 450 thumper then when thumper time comes it looks like I'll be buying blue, though nothing out there will ever make me sell the beast

Hmmmmmmm...KDX450F? Sounds like agood idea. One problem: The KX450F is about a year away and the KDX would be about 1 model year after that...or would it?

On Monday I picked up an '03 WR450 for $6303 OTD (for a friend)@ Chaparral. We brought it home and started "The Surgery" to remove all the EPA crap! Scott, the friend in question, commented that he'd buy a Green Enduro-thumper from Kawi if they made a good one (It also helped that I'd just taken him on a tour of Kawi's race and R&D shops JUST BEFORE heading over to Chaparral...nothing like the big eyes people get when they see the Factory stuff being built right in front of their eyes...).

I'll bet that there's a KDX-F in the future.
