pipes
« on: November 11, 2007, 03:50:36 PM »
seems like alot of guys on here are running the fmf gnarly pipe. i run the fmf fatty gold "slightly bent but not dented" series just cause it came on the bike. i am considering getting a new pipe and would like to hear what pipe you like on your k5 and why. don't see alot of guys ,besides BDI,writing anything about pro-circuit even though they make good pipes. keyboards should be smoking this time.   MADDOGGY

i run the stock pipe, it is made out of thicker material = less dents.

i dont have a dyno to back this but i feel that the stock pipe w/ out dents is better then the PC (the pipe i think preferms the best) with dents.

has anyone run a dyno to compair?>

pro circut pipes  have apperantly had a lot of r and d on the k5.. they have to be properly jetted etc  but run the best through out the power range

I replaced the stock pipe with a PC works. Like Stewart said, it runs better throughout. I don't feel I lost any bottom end and the bike is definitely snappier (not sure that's a word ;)). My jetting was a bit rich for the stock pipe, but is perfect for the PC.

Pro Circuit Platinum works great and I have the Fmf silencer on it. Hits hard everywhere.

I have used the FMF gnarly desert. I am currently running the procircuit. Both are great. I like the PC a little more.

I have a FMF Gnarly.  Bike came with it, so I haven't tried anything else.  I would like a Pro Circuit.  My bike seems a little flat on the top end.   :|

I've only run a procircuit pipe on mine. I've had both the works and the platinum and the only difference i noticed between the 2 is the platinum seems to run a little cooler on the surface tmps. also its easier to keep looking good. with the works pipe you always have to clean it to keepit lookin good.

I use PC at trailriding/enduro and DOMA for supermoto.
More "hit" in DOMA and more topend....
All aftermarket pipes works good BUT it depends what portduration you use which
one working best for your ridingstile or track.
