Hi folks!

Okey,KX500 vs doordie:2-0

I?m soore in hole body now and my self a steam got brused.
IF you don?t know tarmac is hard,I can tell you now! :x
Anyway, qualifie to 8th place on grid on a very narrow gocart track
and that isn?t good for a 65+hp bike.
It throw me away one time in qualifie, lucky a lowsider crash.
And in first final I did a STUPID start and lost engine and began from
last man, getting mad  and pass many guys and reach 11th place. :-D

Second final,I got a very good start from 8th position and reach 3rd BUT
a A..hole rammed me in side and put me on slippery grass and I crash and busted my
frontbrake and raceday over.... :x

BUT in next weekend I will show them how a KX500 reach 180++ km/h at straight
in Link?ping, and the helmets on everyone I pass will rotate!

Just a racereport again,hope you don?t mind! :-D

Wensday last week I did some grasstrack race and that?s were fun for sure.
Didin?t put my mind to it,only for fun and manage to get in the middle of the pack with a decent 15 overall place.
I have?nt the suspension right, used one of my supermotobike,to stiff for grass anyway.
As always power enough!

Last weekend I did a supermoto race in Link?ping and "now are we talking" speed, gearing
15/42 and 8000 rpm,fifth gear! :-o
Qualifie my best, result a fifth place on grid and were very happy about that.
In race one I got a good start and were 4th for a while but my stamina is not so good right now so I ended 7th.

Race 2 I was tired before start, maybe fever, didn?t feel so good anyway, nearly got the holeshoot but braked to early in first turn and got passed by two guys, were third for a time but looses at the end and were nearly to puke in helmet!
Placed 8th and were again happy to survive. 8-)

Now is time to rebuilt topend and try some new mods and we will see if next race going
again better! :-D

Keep after it Doordie! :-D :-D

Doordie,
are you running 15/42 sprockets on your KX500 supermoto? Where did you get the rear sprocket from? The smallest i've seen were 47 teeth. With the gearing you have, is the bike sluggish on the low end? Does it stall easy being geared so tall? I am in the process of building my 1987 KX500 into a supermotard, that is why i am asking.

Yes,15/42 or even 16/42.
Make from solid aluminium sproket (520) and drill holes.
Or Renthal 1128-520-42T
I start in first gear and I?m always fast to first turn...
Sluggish in a KX500,you must be joking! :-D

Cool, thanks for the Renthal part number. I am now one step closer to accumulating all the parts for this project.

Sorry that I haven?t take my time to this forum lately,me and my friends have built a supermoto track and it?s very time consuming, but now we are close to finnish, just the offroad part left.

Some pics from the first practice day of Lunda supermoto track. 8-)

OMG!!
you guys have your own racetrack ,
thats an awesome private sm playground

@doordie ,
your bike is geared the same as my sumo(see topic kx 500 sumo.
btw nice ride that kx!! :-o
but do you like that setting?,
im pretty pleased by the torque and accelleration with 15/42
wheelie in 1/2/3/4 and abit backwards leaning
mine,s tuned also by flowing the ports and fmf Fatty with main jet 182 euro.sizeno.#
it rips your arms off if not fully concentrated.......

are you running a bit richer mixture for sumo ?
like i do for the bit more lubrication at high rev,s.

i set mine so that it,s like a non stop pulling rocket with that lil, richer mixture
and the plug looks good ,a bit grey next too darkbrown
how,s yours looking if your settings r,like mine?

keep the green side up and succes at lundaracing track!!
