Vulture mountain 150
« on: August 31, 2003, 08:51:25 AM »
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any one could tell me about the track. I am helping a guy set up a bike to run this race and we were wondering about the gearing he will need. I know some of you guys are from Arizona so I am hoping that some one will know the track. The bike has 15/51 gears on it. Tops out at about 85. I run 15/47 on my bike and would have to assume it tops out at around 100 as I have never had it clocked. He thinks he should run 15/45 that just sounds a bit tall to me, but maybe I am just old and slow. Any help out there?
Thanks,
Jody

PS
Paul you going to be there?

Hey Wiggy, No I'm opting out of Vulture Mountain but will pass this tidbit on, 15/51 is VERY close to stock gear - actually stock would be faster (3.36:1 vs 3.40:1). Myself i run 14/45 when I go to vulture mountain.

That 15/45 combo is good for land speed records and the such but not very good for vulture mountain. I run the 15/45 combo when I'm at Snowflake - aka. Daytona in the woods
