Burkes Pass
« on: April 01, 2007, 08:33:18 PM »
Hi guys. Its been a while since I last posted here. Been extremely busy with work and a few projects on the go that are now nearing completion. Still trying to ride as much as spare time will allow. But any way had a great ride on sunday. Up in the hills 60 miles from my town in the alpine area called Burkes Pass. It rises to around 1200 metres above sea level and the views are spectacular from the top. Bike is still going strong as ever with many hours under her belt. Hope all here are going the same.

  Cheerz Tim.

Awww,  my scenery fix from Timbowe.  I can always count on you to show me just how desolate the Mojave Desert is here in Las Vegas.  I wonder if I can get my KX5 as carry-on luggage at the airport??

Nice to hear from ya Timbowe.

Cheerz Guys !

C-152 the XR is a 1979 500. It is a good solid original the "Gizard" picked up a few years back after he sold the 500 Prolink. It gets riden HARD. I dont how he does it. Twin shocks, drum brakes and 4 inches of travel are not the least bit inviting to me. But he loves the old school stuff and wont own any vehicle, car or bike, newer than 1980 !

Maybe you guys could team up and check the travel agent for a bulk discount for you and your bikes to get over here and check out some good riding. We have been spoilt lately with rides in all the local hills which are generally only half an hours drive from my back door. This easter there are no local rides but a couple more in April just before the weather craps out and we get snow on the alpine areas.

Looks great up there, I haven't been to Burkes pass since I was a kid.  i am in North Canterbury, and there are plenty of good rides up here too.
Do you need to ask the cocky to go up there, or is it public access land?

Cheers
Steve
