Four strokers, where are you
« on: July 17, 2007, 07:09:46 AM »
Ok so where are all the four stroke riders, we haven't had a new post since march. How about some updates on aftermarket parts, suspension upgrades, motor mods, troubles anything how about it.

I don't like the new 450, the darn thing wants to eat my lunch I'm sure, it's evil. Actually it really is a nice bike, has gobs of power, and defineately a holeshot getter. The suspension feels stiff up front and maybe wants to push a bit.

The 250f, probably my favorite to ride, has plenty of power, good suspension and an all around fun bike to ride.

And yes they do require more maintenance, but what the heck else do we have to do?

I do wish we had more 4 Strokers! I guess it will come with time the more of us that have both 2's and 4's! I would love to have a 250F set up for trails.

I love my crf450x It has a stage one cam, air box mod, R-model pipe, titanium shock spring and H.I.D. light. The light Is the equivalent of 250 watt halogen looks like helicopter spot light and rpm has zero effect on out put when It's on, It's on. The frame Is a 1938 truck frame Its In the middle of getting boxed, corvet front suspension, tubular X-member, four link and blah blah blah P.S. good eye Stewart

The new four strokes run sooo good, if they could just up the reliability a bit for the masses that would be great. I personally have not had 1 issue with any of my KXF's but I know plenty of people that have, and not just kawi, honda's and yamaha as well. I think they are right on the edge of the destruct mode and those that don't stay on top of the maintenance pay the price, and when one fails it's a big price.

I know I wouldn't have the fun I do on a 125, the 250f has good torque and a blast to trail ride, of course I wouldn't take it hillclimbing, that would be like taking a knife to a gun fight.

I'm going to put the hot rods stroker crank In my crf450x that's going to make the bike a 470. Im going use the athena 490 big bore kit for a combined displacement of 510. I'm going to put the R-model head with 1mm over sized valves on It. I allready have the hot cams stage one cam and R-model exhaust with TI header. It's going to be a blast blowing the doors off of crf450R's with my head light, electric start and kick stand :-P. I can't wait.
