Vehicle Identification guides

Has anyone ever seen a vehicle identification guide for yamaha of kawasaki? i know the factory never offered them, but i was wondering if anyone reputable had compiled one?

hammer is right. I searched the vin # for my 91' kx5 when i bought it to make sure the guy was telling the truth about the year. all the info you need is right there. you can also search parts diagrams at the same site under "owner info".  hope it helps, MADDOGGY.
