Service Honda pipe fitment on a 2002 chassis
« on: January 08, 2009, 03:34:56 AM »
It's time to get a pipe for my 250/500 hybrid.  It's a 2002 chassis and the current pipe is a nasty, rusty old Honda part.  I intend to put a Service Honda conversion pipe on the bike.  My question is:  Does anyone know what silencer to use?  I have the 250 one on hand.  But would the SH silencer even bolt up to the frame?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

no idea if it would bolt up? not likely without mods
as it was made for a 06-08 KXF450 chassis.

i'd highly recommend running any brand or model  500 silencer though..
(KX, CR, FMF, PC ,stock, what have you )
as the diameter of the 250 stinger and silencer core ,
is much smaller that the stinger on the 500 pipe?

I want to thank you AJ for making these available.  I wouldn't be on this project if I didn't have a pipe that was as close as this.

I'll probably get the whole set up from you.  See how it wants to mock up.  Take lots of measurements with a yard stick, mark it with chalk, and fit it with a ball peen hammer.

Welllllllllllllll...........  OK.  I have a pal who is a welder and dirt bike nut.  Maybe he can do a little better job.

AJ, will I need to order the rubber connector as well or does it come with the pipe?  Bushings for the silencer?

Can I order the pretty blue coolant lines too?  (It's a shame they aren't green!)

i'l get a part number and pricing on the blue *hose kit*
(green ones are a ways off still)

as far as silencer bushings, or any sea/rubber  between the pipe and silencer..

those you would need to order seperately..
they are stock items,
and do not come on any of the PC or FMF products we order.
