KX125 Rules
« on: July 05, 2003, 10:24:03 AM »
Really, it has been awfully quiet lately. Is everyone busy or just lazy?

What if I claim that KX125 is the best bike ever built? Come on, argue the case... The 125:er is much easier to handle and is better in the outback! I do have a KX500,as well but is is too rough for the average rider.

Comments please...

I would have to say that would depend on where you're riding and what type of riding you are doing. I live in the desert southwest of America (Arizona, close to Phoenix) and i will have to set the record straight, the little 125 will fry a topend trying to ride the single track I ride or race the 110+MPH desert races I win on the beast. I even eat the occasional 250 and below on the MX track

Anyways, in all fairness, I love the 125 on the MX track. Nothing like a 30HP BMX'er  BUT... at 200Lbs, I kill the little guy fast

A friend of mine who is a very good rider - not like me - told me that if I can ride a 125 fast, I can ride anything fast. The powerband is narrow and nasty. You do have to be more technical to ride a 125 fast compared to a 4-stroker with torque. It has paid off. I believe I am technically a much better rider now than I used to be. However, this could be caused by the fact that I have been riding in the dirt for three years now   I was a bit frustrated though to only have 38 hp @ 25k+ rpm or whatever it revs. A lot of torque and hp like the 500 delivers is always nice to have with a twist of your arm.

Fortunate as I am, I have both a KX125 and a KX500  :D
