Motion Pro Clutch cable
« on: February 13, 2007, 04:04:50 AM »
Hey guy's anybody using Motion Pro clutch cable?? My question is that the Motion Pro clutch cable doesn't have the metal sleeve with the boss that slide into the catch on the cylinder head. My O.E.M cable does. Maybe the picture will help of the o.e.m cable. http://www.kxriders.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=89&pos=21

my motion pro cable looks exactly like the stock Kawi, other than the outer sheath being Gray.

My cable is missing the metal boss on the cable that slides into the catch on the cylinder.

Hughes, sounds like you got the wrong cable?? I had all Motion Pro T2 cables on both my KX500 and 250. Also, have them on my YZ250. The KX500's look exacly like my stock one, except it did not break every few months. ;-)

After digging into this it may appear that my bottom end is newer than an 87. The socket on the crank case that holds the cable is the same from 89-2004 model engines(that's the way my engine is) looking at an another 87 in the gallery his cable holder on the crank case is different and his cable looks just like the one I bought from Motion Pro. I guess I will order a newer cable and run with it.

Here's the 87 in the gallery, this is the same looking cable motion pro sent me. http://www.kxriders.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=127&pos=7

This is the same looking cable and holder that my bike has. http://www.kxriders.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=89&pos=21
