The KX500 Night Before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas and out by the track
not a two stroke was smoking, not even Jack's.
The moto crossers were nestled all in a line,
While visions of trophies danced in their minds.
When out on the line there arose such a clatter,
I looked at my K5 to see what was the matter.
And to my surprise I had left on the choke
So I pushed in the knob so I would not be a slowpoke.
As the starting gate fell, I was in second gear,
a stride the mighty K5 I had lost all fear.
As we rounded the corner did I here bells ringing?
It was just Ricky Carmichael's bike singing.
When we reached the table top we made a big jump
And when we all landed we heard the big thump.
As we looked to the rear "Is that a sleigh?"
No, it's just Stewart hitting a bale of hay.
I began to wonder if Santa's in this race,
No he's out working to bring a smile to a child's face.
I could go on with this story till after New Year's Day,
But then we would all be waiting for the next
Christmas Day!
