engine paint
« on: June 04, 2003, 08:18:04 AM »
My '87's engine was originally painted black. The current state of my motor is that the top end (cylinder and head have been bead blasted to the natural aluminum color, while the bottom is the stock black color. I am contemplating repainting the top end black when I have it off to replace the base gasket. My question is this: Does anyone know what type of paint is typically used on a two stroke engine? I suspect it must be some kind of laquer so that it does not have any insulating properties which would hold in heat. If you know, could you clue me in....thanks.   :)
