Well I put the smack talk to bed yesterday. My good buddy wanted to go do some riding yesterday at our local play spot. There is a nice 1/4 ish mile dirt road that is perfect for practicing MX starts. So we lined up the "man bike" with his '06 KX450F. Bottom line, 4 races, 3 spankfests handed out by the "man bike". The 450 will stay right near me through 3rd gear (because my 5 is just blowing the rear tire to pieces). I did slightly loose one race because I started in 1st, which caused violent wheelspin, then when I grabbed second a nasty wheelie, and I could'nt catch him. We swapped bikes, and my buddy (now on my 5) absolutely destroyed me, as he is a young, current, fast amatuer MX racer. So in hindsight, there is NOTHING that will beat a KX500 with traction, and rider abilities being near (or even less in my case). I finally had a safe opportunity to really wring out the man bike as I FINALLY have my Scotts steering damper all installed and dialed in sweet. (I will post a full writeup with pics tonight on the damper soon). Final call, these 500's are insane fast, if you have the ballz to hold the throttle WO.
