I just bought a huge box of parts from a guy that used to have a 97 KX500. The box has a bunch of front and rear sprockets.
When I race my 2001 KX500 at our local motocross tracks, I always have run the stock gearing, which I think is 14/47. In the box there are 45T, 46T, 48T, and 50T rear sprockets, and 13T and 15T front sprockets.
Has anyone run different gearing from stock for motocross applications, and can you make any comments or recomendations?
Thanks.
Also, if anyone is interested, the guy I bought the parts from used to ride flat track and on the ice. In the box were stock fork springs modified to lower the front of the KX500 3" or so, and two tie-rod things to lower the rear of the bike as well. I'd be willing to let these go for real cheap, as I will probably never use them.
