Sunday ride
« on: July 30, 2006, 07:07:51 PM »
Had a ride on yesterday in land from Oamaru. 50 miles from here. Great day weather wise. No frost just a bit light cloud cover and a warm Norwest breeze. Perfect. Track consisted of a 30 mile loop with 4 enduro variations. Rolling open farm land which was fairly fast with only a few tricky south side muddy up hill climbs. We were first out on the track in the morning so the mud wasnt too much of a prob till later on when the 300 bikes had minced it up a bit. Averaged 28 mph over the loop and we only did 3 loops. Havent been on me bike for a while so the fittness is a little lower than I would have liked. Will build it up again with another organised ride next sunday also.

I love the pictures of the rides that you go on Timbowe.  There are some vintage/older bikes running around in that group...   Do you clean your bike the same day you get back?  How is the mud over there (have alot of oxidants that tarnish the excel hubs or aluminum polish)?  Your bike looks a little intimidating around those other scoots.
