Harescramble race in Georgia.

Hope to be my first race if I can get my bike put back together.I will be the only big block on the starting line :-D . Maybe I can run the whole series next year. These are two hour races.

good luck!  I presume you are going to start in the heavy trail class?

Our series is in it's summer break. My son's first race will be in september. I don't know when i'll get back, maybe next year.

I am going to start with the C class. They better watch out when I drop the hammer. :evil:

The only thing I like is to replace my rear wheel bearings this week and the bike is ready. Problem is I have not rode in three weeks but have been going to the gym. Hope I can talk my buddy into taking photo's. I noticed they have a open class in this series. Just fits to run open class this weekend.

Sorry to report but didn't make the race this wekend. Bike was ready to go but I wasn't. I can't spell the name of the nerve that runs from your spinal core down both legs but mine started acting up friday night and by sunday morning I had a hard time walking. Old issue that pops up about once a year. There is another race in two weeks that I hope to run in.

Sciatica is the nerve that I have had some issues with. It only happens if I stress my back. I just got finshed moving into our new home in June and I think that was what got it flamed up.

I have a compressed disc and sciatica trouble also. best thing I did was to get and inversion table. You hook your feet in and flip up 180deg. lets everything strech out and fall back into place. It works great for me. May not be the cure all for everyone.

I sell  dozens of inversion tables a year and have been using them for 30 years myself! I think they are one of the best things you can do for your body! :-D

This is my trick to remedy this sciatic problem : Lay on ya back on the floor, knees raised, clench the ol sphincter muscle tight as you can like you want to stop your self crapping ya daks! Suck in as much air into the lungs as humanly possible and blast it out through the mouth fast and hard and as long as possible while holding the gut muscles tight as also. Repeat 10 or 15 times a couple of times a day.
 
5 years ago I had 3 prolapsed disks. I could'nt walk, sit, stand, all I could do was crawl on my hands and knees. I was recomended to a guy who sorted me out in 2 months without laying a hand on me! When I crawled through his office door, he said "I see people like you all time". And promptly told me that the average human does only 1 % of the phsyical work now days compared to a century ago. The human body is starting to weak and useless because we have too many labour saving devices which let us grow out-wards. And our musclular is not up to keeping the body held together properly. Like the disks that pop out and stick into the sciatic nerve.

 So you've got to build up these muscles to suport your back. The stomach area is an important place to concentrate also. It all works in balance to support the middle.

 Whatever you do DO NOT have any surgery to remove part of the prolapse part of the disk!!! This is a scam! And will lead to pressure on the next disks down the spine and the same thing will happen. After the 2nd operation, the surgeon will tell you that they will have to fuse a grafted piece of bone onto the vertibrae which will be the end of free movement and result in pain and suffering for the rest of your life. The only winner from this procedure is the surgeon!

Core strength and flexibility are key to preventing back injuries.  Warm up muscles prior to excertion by stretching and slowly increase work loads.

Be careful of self remedies concerning your back and spine.  Seek professional care in the appropriate field of medicine.  Usually a couple visits to a sports medicine/sports rehabilitation office will give you a personalized regimen to follow for your specific needs.  Surgery, in my opinion, is the last option in most cases.

Sounds like alot of people have back problems and Timbowe is definately hitting the mark.  Try and work on posture while riding and sitting around.

A large portion of the male population can remedy the sciatic nerve issue by not carrying your wallet in the back pocket.  A large wallet will cause a shift to your hips while sitting and an curve of the spine over time.  The accessory muscles that give stability to the spine will be out of balance causing back pain because they are compensating to keep you verticle.  Also, the direct pressure of the wallet impinges on the tissue and nerves running down the back of your legs resulting in numbness and pain.

Anyway, back pain sucks !   Hope you feel better soon..

Good info here. I have and currently doing alot of the things listed above. I feel 95% today with some help from some real good pills.  :-D
