FMF or Pro Circuit
« on: June 10, 2006, 05:37:16 PM »
My 03 K5 is running the FMF right now but what does the Pro Circuit have to offer.
What kind of pipe are you guys running and why?
I always ran the PC on my 250s but the 500 is another beast.

I must have more power! :-D :-D

What type of riding?  For tight woods or trails, the FMF Gnarly or the Pro-Circuit are both good.  For more wide open terrain like sand or open desert the FMF Gnarly "Desert" is the best.

So the Pro Circuit is better up top and the FMF has a stronger bottom?

Florida has a lot of sand but I also run the trails. I pretty much run a little of everything.
The FMF is currentley on my ride and I see that everyone runs the reed spacer on this set up.
What combo is most popular?

It depends on the FMF Pipe you have. Currently they have a "Fatty" which is no longer produced, they have a Gnarly (torque), and now a Gnarly Desert (replaces the Fatty) which has huge amounts of top-end gain and the expense of some lower grunt. I ride FMF on every single bike I've got in the dirt and I ride all wide open, not very much grunting so the FMF Fatty or Desert Rev are my choices. I don't know all that much about ProCircut.

Looks like I have the Gnarly FMF on my 03. So it has a torque tune on this pipe?
Are you running a reed spacer?
I need to get some combos that everyone is running.

Well looks like I need the spacer and V-Force deal to go with my Gnarley. Thanks for the info. I will give it a shot.
Has anyone dyno proven this mod or is this seat of the pants?

Wow that pipe has serious bling! :-o  I always loved my Pro Circuit on my 250 but is seams the FMF is more popular.
I run the Gnarly only because I got a great deal on it. I should swap out to the PC to see if it is noticeably different.

Hey, check out my Father's Day present.   My wife and Arigato hooked me up with some new bling.  FMF Gnarley Desert Pipe.  The other FMF had some desert dings from the previous user and it took a dump last trip out, getting a 5 inch crack at the curve.  Did some brazing at Jimmy's uncles house near the dunes and finished the weekend.  Should have my motor pulled and tore down in the next few weeks.  Looking for some more power.  The suspension will be blinged out and then built up for the airtime at the dunes.

Thanks you guys.
