Car vs. KX 500

Okay here's the short version of the story, as some of you know that I have talked to. I think I have an airleak somewhere on my bike that makes the bike super lean over half throttle and at higher rpm's. Sometimes it bogs, sometimes it hiccups, sometimes it detonates, sometimes it just wont rev, so it's a little hard to narrow the problem down. Well I have a spot near me that is abandoned on weekends and I test there because I can do full throttle tests and repeat them to help me find the problem. Well last weekend there were a couple of guys in my spot doing donuts and burnouts in their cars and we both exchanged the what the hell are you doing back here look. My profession is in Hi-performance cars and I happen to like grudge racing so after about 10 minutes of the burnouts and hotdog stuff I couldn't take anymore so I ride over and asked would they like to race a car, possibly for a couple of $$.  The offer was declined because the engine was fresh in the camaro and he was just testing/breaking it in. But they wanted to know did I want to race my bike against a car. I explained that it's not running right, yadda yadda yadda, and there was some mild smack talk going back and forth. So I said screw it air leak or not I AINT SKEERED so I told them what I thought I needed to make it a fair race, and they agreed and the rest is on the video. The guys are really nice and I'll be probably taking on a couple of projects from them in the near future since they said they were somewhat familiar me and the types of cars I work on.  FYI the stock version of that car does the 1/4 in 15.6 secs at 91 mph and as you see this one isn't stock. The race we did was supposed to be about an 1/8 mile but I got out of it around 550' or so. I think if we had went for the full 1/4 the results would have been the same or maybe the lead would have stretched further....who knows who cares? I cant wait to get my bike running right and take it to the track to see how it compares to my other one. My other bike ran 79 mph and 72 in the 1/8 and I'm sure this one should run closer to 75+ in the 1/8 which is silly fast in the dirt. If you have DSL or cable check out the video but PLEASE save it to your computer instead of bogging down his server.

The race was fun and I'd do it again after I have the bike running right and all the plastic on it, and I'll also make sure to have all my gear on.
Enjoy..............

BTW to anyone who cares I found 2 problems later on that day regarding the lean condition (1) was reed block gasket had a rip and finally gave up the ghost and (2) was the float needle would stick. I dunno why they failed at the same time all I know is I hope that there isn't any other problems.

I was able to pull the file down no problemo. Looks like a complete arss-kickin' to me. I am surprised that they really thought the car had a chance...say it with me now: POWER/WEIGHT RATIO

I am sorry to be persistent - but the url referred to (http://videos/atstuffv3lq.wmv ) is wrong :(  It does not contain a valid DNS name. It looks more like a path without a DNS name. I wouln't be hasseling you if I wasn't interested in watching the clip...

I.e. if the clip is stored on pitbull, the reference to www.pitbull-racing should be in the URL like "http://www.pitbull-racing.com/videos/atstuffv3lq.wmv"
