I need some help.
« on: April 03, 2006, 06:34:43 AM »
Hey Guy's. Does anybody know how to get started with an on-line parts and accessories web-site.  I have been wanting to start an on-line parts store with an offroad forum for my area for a couple of years now.  Any idea's? I know some of ya'll are good with web-site crating and maintaining. Don't laugh to hard.

Aftermarket: 608-758-1111. That is parts unlimited's department. They will hook you up with the information you need to get started in the wholesale business.

OEM: http://yamaha-factoryparts.com/ They also have Kawasaki and other brands too.

I started a automobile dealership with a friend and that is what I would do, call the company and they would tell me what was required. Usally they require a showroom with at least X amount of bikes and square footage.

Hope that helps.

In my days when the boy was riding KTM's I found KTMtalk.com. After a while some dealers were watching the forum section and began offering discounts to site members. Maybe we could get something like that set up here. The KTM site had an area that you put in what part you needed and dealers got back to you with their best offer. It was pretty cool because some dealers got rid of parts that had been sitting for a while and a KTMtalk member got a good deal. There were even engine builders on the forums and suspension guys. I got some real good deals and it kept both his bikes running all season. Took him to a 1st overall on a 65 and a second overall on a 50 in the same year.

Just something to think about.

That sounds great for this site. But I think we will need to get more memebers and easrier to find on the net. We have come along way thanks to Paul and Alan. It would be nice to get some pro racers that run green machines to take part on this site. We have a great group of trail riders here. There is an off-road website for sale (dirt bikes) that has over 4000 memmbers and over 50 people at one time on line using the site. I was wanting to invest in somthing like that site and then have an on line parts store to go with. What would we do with out dreams. :-D
