For getting the bike through the MSVA (UK) the AC should work - should'nt it?

The e-line ones cost a small fortune, if they were affordable I would have one in my grubby mitts by now.

You should be able to get through the MOT test with just a battery stuffed into the airbox, runs out after a few minutes but does the job.

Personally I can't stand crap lights so when I have stopped spending huge quantities (well they seem huge to me anyway) of cash on my house I can uprate the lights on my KX.

I have been rather spoiled by the lights on my GSXR which are superb.

LOL!!! - i was about to ask about stuffing a battery under the seat, but thought it might have sounded stupid!

i sort of defeats the purpose road registering a KX5 if you spend loads on it......... I'll be taking the more affordable approach me thinks!

When I first got my bike it had a battery in the airbox, got it through the MOT I suppose but I think that airboxes are for air so junked it, currently it lives in the bag on the back mudguard.

You can get LED rear lights which cut down on the watts needed by a hell of a lot and hydraulic brake banjo switches cos the standard master cylinders don't have any form of switch built into them.

I phoned the MOT centre, and asked about what i need in order to MOT the KX5. Apparently you need:

Front and back lights
If the bike is 1996+ the brakelight needs to be activated by both front and rear brake levers
fully working indicators
knobbly "road legal" enduro tyres
horn
mph and kph speedo (cycle one will do)
he was not sure about a stand!

only thing i'm concerned about is the brakelight swithes at the front and rear brake levers.

I have Banjo bolt brake switches which are a direct replacement for the standard banjo bolts.One thing is that the front one kind of sticks out a bit but at the moment I can't be bothered changing it.

Look like this and as far as I remember was 10mm by 1.25 thread, you better check that bit.

You can also use a different master cylinder off another bike that has a switch built in already or even Venhill engineering sell some with them built in.

My bike doesn't have a stand either and theres no problems at MOT time.
