Rode a YZ450F for the 1st time yesterday.. That thing is a rocket! I only weigh 130lbs, so needless to say the front end was off the ground in every gear.

An 06-07 YZ450F is going to be in my garge here in the near future. I love 2 smokes but that yz450f is one bad dude. My bud just got an 06 with the alumn. frame. after he gets it broken in good I'll ask if I can roll on the throttle.

I sat on one of the new KX450F's at my dealer's place the other day and it sure felt good!

Never tried a KX450F, but I sure have ridden quite a few YZ450F's and CRF450s. And I have to say hughes, the YZF is old and slow compared to the CRF. Sorry. ;-)

Too bad the KXF comes with that 4 speed. Kills it for me. I once owned a CR480 with a 4 speed. Wonderful for the MX track but next to useless for anything else. Cam.

My bro-in-law has a KTM MXC450 with a six speed that's kind of nice!

YZF is also a 4 speed. Those are my complaints. If I were to get a 4 banger, I'd be on the CRF though. Even if it does throw a crank every 50 hours. ;-)

The wider flatter torque band is probably why they only went to a 4 speed tranny!
