Alan, I like it! I've hoped somebody would step up to the plate with these ideas! I believe there is a fee to get put up on Google somewhere at the top. I don't think it would be that hard to overtake the KX500 search. ;-)

Good thing we never got the t shirts printed up. Maybe now is a better time to get the poll running to see if we can muster up enough numbers to do something. Stickers also?  I'm sure we could get some cool designs/ logos...

The problem could be that the actual forum is not accessible unless you are an authenticated user (i.e. logged in). I noticed this by a mistake. If this is the case, the search bots will not index the information in the forum = no search hits.

The web server listener is configured to serve requests on "http://www.pitbull-racing.com" and "http://pitbull-racing.com" as well as the IP-address; http://140.99.45.111). The cookie used to authenticate the user (so you don't have to sign in again) is stored under the context of the site you are accessing. Try accessing one of the "other" sites I have listed above and you'll see what I mean.

If this is the problem, its' most likely caused by too restrictive security settings for non authenticated user access.

The listener issue should idealy also be fixed; the listener should be tied down to www.pitbull-racing.com and nothing else. The oter "sites" should just re-direct to the www... The reasons are that search enginges will accumulate the number of hits and rank the page. This will not be the case if the same page is accessible under multiple names.

what about simplistic www.KX500.com      8)

most other (smaller) KX riders are members of local forums!

i reckon people would even type that in faster than searching for it!

available names:

http://www.123-reg.co.uk/whois-results.cgi?domain=KX500&root=&lookup=OK

looks like www.KX500.com is owned by network solutions (www.networksolutions.com) = but is also up for grabs......

you could email them or make them an offer: $1

I filed KXriders last night! I really don't think we need KX500.com name, Kxriders.com is far more diverse!

Now the search engines should bring up KXriders when anyone types in KX500, 250 etc this moves us way up on the lists. I will see when Dave can direct KXriders.com to the site!

Beyond that we can use banners like Denniskirk.com etc. to recommend us if we give them a banner position on the site.

I done a MSN Search and we were on the first page 6th item listed. So it worked. Thanks Alan. I just typed in KX Forums.

I tried to use kawasaki forums and we were no where listed. I went through 7 pages. We might try to attach the word kawasaki into the mix.

I was doing research on my KX100 and KX enthusiasts sites.  Didn't come up with much, then finally found this after about 12 pages.

Alan,

Once you find us on the net the description of the site is not clear. doesn't say anything about dike bikes or nothing about kawasaki. I think this would help if the description was clear about the sites content.

I believe the original reason I found this forum was because of Alan.  I have an 87 yz490 and was on the 490 forum, and read about his kx500 at one point, and was directed to this site.  Come to think of it, I think that's how I ended up with my KX500 also!   :D  Thanks Alan!
