New projects!
« on: January 19, 2006, 07:50:31 AM »
I have been building a new shop at my house and I think it will be done in a few months !  Aside from the usual mechanical tools I am bringing my Lathe and Mill home from my shop at my store. I just bought an compressor and a 7x12 horizontal band saw! Next will be a new MIG & TIG. It is only a detached 2 car garage but it is going to be the biggest little shop in town!

My point in telling this to you all is that I just bought a 94 KX500 in a box and I am trying to figure out what do with it! I could just keep it for parts or make something special with the parts! Like maybe a trick chrome and black bling bling KX5 or put the motor into a 250 Mojave quad or what?
Have you guys got any ideas?

Alan

What is cheap, It is not new and the motor is apart! If I were to put it in a quad I will go 540 kit with NOS ! It hasn't been shipped to me as yet! It will be shipped next week or so from California

When you recieve it take some pictures of the bike and post them. Did you get this off e-bay? I thought I saw one on there a few weeks or a month ago.

I raced offroad buggies for several years in the east. Ever since I got the 500 I thought it would be cool to have one in a mini buggy. Something like the red manufactures (honda) oddessy. there is a manufacture in Michigan that builds mini buggies using 600 and up street bike engines. I can't recall there name though. Maybe Jspeed could help me out with there name. In March I may go to the Michigan buggy builders show in Lansing, that's where I saw them a few years back.

I was thinking about building something like an odyssey only out of Aluminum, nice and light! The odyssey is way to heavy! Maybe an odyssey with a 1000 ninja or Hiabusa in it! HeHe!

I've seen these buggies race they are so light and fast. I don't recall if any were out of aluminum. It's been a few years since I've been out there. I compressed a disc in my back in a buggy. I stand up alot when I ride now. I can't even ride a quad for very long without having to hang in my inversion table.
