KX85 falls on it's face when you try to launch it
« on: June 01, 2021, 01:17:17 AM »
Hello there! My son recently graduated up to a kx85 from a klx110. The bike was an all stock 2019 with around 10 hours on it. My son is wanting to get into racing so the other day at the track after taking some laps he wanted to work on his starts. Everytime he would rev it up and dump the clutch to launch it, it would fall on it's face for 10-15 feet, then it would catch and run like normal.

It did this same thing in the back yard not too long ago out on our property when he was trying it. I talked to a guy at the local kawi service dept and he told me to try a 40:1 mix Instead of the kawi recommended 32:1. However it still does it.

I've always ridden 4 strokes so I'm new to this 2 stroke game. Any suggestions or insight would be great. Thanks!
