KTM KX500 Hybrid
« on: January 20, 2020, 10:40:21 AM »
Hello all,
I have potential been offered a 2020 KTM450f , and a KX500 motor. I.am a bike mechanic and an engineer, and my Son (who will ride it) works at a metal fabrication company.
What are people's thoughts about building this hybrid, has anyone done this ?
The drive is on the same side, which is a good start !!
Any input welcome.
Thanks

Has the ktm engine expired ? I wouldnt do it unless the kato engine destroyed , find a late model something else that has a blown engine and needs re powering. Then you will have 2 bikes.

Hello, thanks for the reply.
No the KTM (a 2020 Caroli replica !!!) Was purchased new for the engine, electrics and front pipe to be used in another project. The chap also has a KX500 motor and he'd sell the lot. I've seen sandblaster's ktm/kx build and whilst I am a bike mechanic and an engineer I've decided it isn't financially worth it.

I've done a 2016 250 SXF with a K5 engine that turned out pretty good..
I'm looking for a 2020 chassis and the 450f would be very easy to convert in comparison to the 250f,

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
