"To upgrade or not to upgrade"

I'm having a tough decision. I've got a nice 1990 K5. Looks great, runs great. My problem is the suspension is harsh, and I'd like to put an expensive Recluse clutch to make it more rider friendly. The issue is, if I do all this will I be able to get my money back out of it if i need to? I think i can get back what i got in it to this point, but that clutch upgrade is costly, and It will take it out of the "original" market.
Thoughts??

i would leave the clutch alone until it needs rebuilding , as for the harshness in suspension , you can fix that easy , could be that need of the right springs or a re valve .remember to spend time setting up suspension like the sag ,rebound, compression, is the shock and fork due for a oil change.

KXDINO hit it... rebuild the suspension, new bushings, seals, ect and get it sprung for your weight.
That will solve that issue...

I'd like to put an expensive Recluse clutch to make it more rider friendly.

If your doing a lot of lower speed technical riding the Rekluse is awesome.
If you are doing more desert or higher speed riding, not so much.

if I do all this will I be able to get my money back out of it if i need to?

Without all the parameters it's impossible for anyone to say.
The more you spend on the total project the harder it will be to get your money back.
Personally I build not with a eye to resale but simply, what I want to ride.
If it makes me smile when I twist the throttle then it's mission accomplished  :-D
