Keeping it cool Hot Head  8-)
I was asked to test the new MSV Racing PHI impeller for the KX500.

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I had a couple of people ask me about the MSV PHI impeller. I just ordered one for my KtX500e. 😎 Needless to say, I speak with my PayPal account :-)

Just for grins, I switched coolants today. For the testing I was running 50/50... Today I drained it and put in some Royal Purple Purple Ice. I tested several coolants years ago and nothing cooled better than Purple Ice so I expected to see significant differences and the Purple Ice did not disappoint.... WOW! Needless to say I will continue running it in all my bikes.

It is a straight swap for a KX500 impeller...
I'm way to lazy to look up part numbers today

That covers me.  Even if it doesn't fit the 500, I can use it on the 250.

I took the 50/50 out of my bike and ran the Royal Purple, Purple Ice.
I did the same experiment years ago and the results are far superior with the Purple Ice.

I get the same old reason to run waterless instead...
It won't boil over.
True, it won't boil over, your engine can run until it becomes bubbling slag on the ground and the waterless coolant won't boil.

With the Purple Ice, running a 1.8 cap you can run up to 265 f before it will boil.
If your worried about expansion, put a small reservoir on your right rad with the pickup in the bottom...
And I mean small...
I run mine hard in 100F Desert conditions... Slow speed, high RPM's... Never a issue...

But like I always say, if what you are doing works for you... Run it... Mine will just run 30F cooler than yours if not more  :-o :-D 8-)

I'm still using Purple Ice with great results, ever since you and Motorrad introduced it to the site a few years back.
