Grease on main seals

Well I have all my parts now and the time so the cases are going back together.
I see the clymer manual says to fill the seals on the main bearings with grease. The OEM manual also vaguely says to fill all seals with grease.
Never done this before in all my rebuilds and my feeling is the fuel would eventually wash out the grease with a potential to plug the oiling holes.
Does anyone fill their main seals with grease?

Yes, I use a assembly lube or white lithium..

That is what I was responding to.
The idea is to make sure that none of the seal contact area is dry.
You do not need to grease the entire seal, just where a rotating assembly contacts it.

Ok cool standard issue.
I was reading into it that they wanted me to fill the seal lip with grease like a wheel bearing.
