I am going to have to do the modifications required to make this 88 pipe fit my 87 but do I need to use the isolator mounting brackets or do I make the mods and leave out the isolator brackets. Thanks

Most guys continue to use the isolator brackets. They cut off the mounting brackets off the pipe itself, then relocate them so the isolator brackets will line up and able to be used. I myself would definitely modify it so they can still be used.

Don't be afraid to post pics as documentation, in case others have the same scenario.
