So here it is.
The current record is 125.8 MPH.
Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials
AMA Land Speed Grand Championship
2021 BMST August 28th-September 2nd
Here is a link to the Bonneville website with the rules ect.

Do you have a fast 500cc production bike?
Stock bore, stock stroke, stock carburetor, stock pipe, stock muffler, stock chassis, stock wheels.
Port it, compress it, gear it to the moon and show up.
Is your CR500R RM500 KTM 500 the fastest Production single cylinder bike on the planet?
Show up and run it.
Lets end this debate once and for all.

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

If it's like the Mystery Machine, will there be Scooby Snacks?
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

Now let's see the cerakote! Mine actually wore off the rear brake MC from boot contact in the first ride on my 450 so I don't recommend it for areas like that though.

Did you use the air cure or oven cure.

I used the oven cure. I've read other places not to use it on the case covers either since it doesn't stand up well to direct wear.  I did my left side flywheel cover on both the 450 and 500 but I put high temp oven cure clear over it. So far that is standing up after 3 hours of hard Moto riding but I can see the clear wearing thru. The callipers and brackets still look good though.

Here's the rear MC after 2 rides. I'm also wearing through the frame gripper tape so it's seeing some heavy abuse!

If this bike sees any Cerakote it will be clear. All aluminum will be vapor blasted. On the outside this bike will be another clean stock build... But I intend to put some fire to the engine..  :-D

That makes sense with all of the cleaning and
polishing :-D. I tried the Cerakote Clear Aluminum coating on my K5 TSR right side cover to preserve the polished billet.  It's a lot easier to apply than the other coatings and doesn't require all the degreasing, catalyst, and oven cure.  I will see how well it holds up in a few weeks.

I have some of that clear but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I've shot it on non wear parts only...
They need to add Kryptonite to it or something....

Finally I'm back on the "Special Bike"

Getting this KX500 rear brake caliper ready to go. Waiting for the new piston to get here.
I've always liked good brakes on my KX500 and since this bike will be incredibly fast I would like to be able to stop it..
