Hello all. I have a 89 kx 500 that I stuff into a 2006 rmz. This past summer I lost 3rd gear. I tore it down and found a c clip broke and was causing the 2nd output gear to float losing 3rd gear. I installed new clips, my question is it moves very stiffly. All the of the other gears rotate freely. Has anyone had this issue or is normal for that gear?

While u got it apart , get it polished or get one of them treatments done, I had a k5 tranny polished ,any part that slides on another part made a big difference ,worth doing and easier on the left ankle .check the stiffly gear for burrs or any damage.
