Clutch Baskets Barnett / Stormin Norman Prox / Mitaka
« on: March 05, 2019, 08:35:51 AM »
Has anybody on here tried adapting a 1992 and up Barnett clutch basket to fit an 88 and up KX 500?? I am guessing the steel pins on the Barnett baskets are like what Stormin Norman was doing in the early 2000's but he seems to have disappeared from ye olde interweb, I want one for a KX 250 1990/91 model which also works on the KX 500's!

If that is not possible can anybody verify if the Prox basket is worth the extra cash over the Mitaka ones and if so is it because Prox ones hardened but the Mitaka ones are not? I spoke to an ebay seller that said Prox was way better but he had an agenda so I thought it would be worth confirming on here, thanks

The ProX and Mitaka baskets are the same deal, just different branding for the EU vs USA.
I generally order the Mitaka when I'm not in a hurry as they are cheaper.
But If I'm in a hurry I'll get the ProX as I can generally get them quicker.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
