Never seen a clutch were the plate tabs have 10mm + of clearance from the basket fingers.

I have seen worse baskets but I have never seen an inner hub this notched.
In my eyes it is from the excessive tab clearance on the basket.

Lol... No, it's not normal.... Someone has machined the basket a lot...
If you use it you will breaking a ton of plates...
You need to replace that basket and hub.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Makes sense but never thought someone would go beyond simple filing.
I already ordered a prox basket and inner hub last night.
Recommendations on plates and springs?
When I did up my rm250 motor I had issues finding plates/springs that didn't slip.
In the end wiseco were the best with Barnett springs but they are not available for the kx.
I was thinking of going with the Barnett Kevlar plates.

Rekluse offers their torq drive plates and even auto clutch now. The plates alone are supposed to handle a lot more torque but they are pricey. They also come with stainless steel basket inserts to prevent the groove wear.

Well you nailed that one. You can see 2mm was taken from one side of each of the fingers.
I would not even think that someone would do that in some bizarro world but I guess you've seen it all  :-o
I have watched all your videos BTW and read most anything you've posted here and on kxguru. You are a wealth of knowledge, thanks for your efforts 👍

I still have much to learn... But what I have learned, a lot of it came from this site and members that no longer visit
