My 97 KX500
« on: December 01, 2018, 12:32:15 PM »
Here's a few pics of my 97 KX500. I have a Scalvini pipe, 2017 KX450 Forks (now converted to Dal Soggio spring setup), KX450 Ride Engineering 22mm triple clamps, 280mm front brake, GPR steering damper (I got the other adapter made for Destry Abbott's bike), Baja Designs LED headlight, Tusk Front wheel, Dubya/Talon 18" rear wheel, 525 ported cylinder with 220psi compression and many other mods. I recently Cerakote'd the calipers, shock, master cylinder and some other parts and will get those pics up once it's all back together.

and here is a recent one where I adapted a KTM 250/300 FMF Titanium Powercore 2.1 to the Scalvini pipe (good for more low end and midrange).  I haven't had a chance to ride it with the new silencer yet though but it sounds good with a deeper tone

That's a good looking bike!  I'm scared to start doing Cerakote on stuff.  I'm afraid I'll have the whole fleet apart and getting coated.   :-D
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

Thanks Umberto! The Cerakote looks good once it's done but it's a big pain to do. The preparation of parts is the hard part of the process.

Thanks 450 OX! The pipe gave really good low and mid gains compared to the Pro Circuit pipe but it cost me some top end. It's also very thin gauge which makes it light but it dents real easy. I have it in for some dent removal for the second time right now. It's also a pain to keep looking good as you can imagine! I don't really care for their 'carbon' silencer which is carbon fiber wrapped around a steel core for looks so I'm giving the FMF Powercore a try
